I wrote this piece during the summer when I needed its message as much as some of you reading this. I went into the summer exhausted and depleted and planned to rest -- but I took this a bit too far and lost the vitality of my quiet time. I was still reading the Bible and praying, but it was hasty and rushed. I wasn't getting up before my kids, and I was too distracted to really hear from God. In addition, I wasn't being vigilant about being immediately obedient to God's Spirit, and my spiritual life began to suffer. I felt lethargic and indifferent. While visiting my parents in my home state, I visited my home church and got a needed boost of renewal with the service. I repented during that service and asked God to help me get back on track. How about you? Share some ways God has helped you get back on track in the past in the comments.
