Hello,

I believe that using Abraham and Sarah as a reason to trust that God's promises will come true. Let me explain; God spoke to Abraham and told him that he would have a son. Then the wait. I believe that was 25 years of waiting after communication with God. I gave myself to God through Jesus about 42 years ago. God hasn't made contact with me. Just silence. I have been waiting for 42 years for God to speak to me. If God had talked to me then the wait would be bearable. Isn't 42 years longer than anyone in the Bible had to wait? I believe that was 40 years. I fear God's promises won't happen because God hasn't been here for me in the past.

Sorry for the rambling.
God bless you, in Jesus holy name, Amen.

Hi Kenneth, I can feel the pain in your words, and I don't know all that you have been though, but it sounds like life has been very hard for you. I am sorry that you have had so many struggles. And I know personally how tough life can be sometimes. I am not sure all the particulars of your situation, but I can say from personal experience that God doesn't always answer prayers in the way that I want him to, but He does speak. Sometimes, rather than give me exactly what I am asking for, He simply provides comfort through a verse or the encouragement of a friend. Other times, when I am praying, I just am overwhelmed with a sense of peace that I don't find anywhere else but when I pray to Him. He doesn't necessarily take the hardship away but I have the encouragement and peace I need in the middle of what I am going through. And other times, He does respond and grant what I am asking, but it is not always in the way I thought or in the time frame that I requested it. In times of great pain, it's natural to want to turn away from Him and give up on faith. I have been at that point many times even though He has done amazing things in my life. However, I would encourage you to seek Him anyway. Keep praying. Keep reading the Bible. Keep going to church. Tell Him exactly how you feel and how frustrated you are. Ask Him your questions and I know He will speak to you in your situation.

As far as I can tell none of God's promises have come true in my life. I am 54 years old, gave myself to God through Jesus when I was 12. In the 42 years since then, there has been nothing from or of God. God wants a relationship but puts no effort into it. God's silence and absence don't make a relationship possible. Involvement is needed to form a relationship. Silence and absence don't foster faith or trust. Lifelong poverty and unanswered prayers show God's lack of involvement in my life. Where is God? He promised to never leave but has yet to show up. I can only guess, since God doesn't show up He can't leave. That must be how God keeps this promise by what are called lies of omission. God never gives all the pertinent details. The Bible is full of this kind of double talk. Says one thing but means another. This is how God avoids doing anything at all.

Thanks, and God bless you, in Jesus holy name.

I have a promise which is 'as good as dead'. I was in a relationship which was struggling but I had clear signs from God that one day I would marry my partner. We separated soon after and I became a single mum to 2 toddlers. 5 years later my children's dad is living with a partner and her children, and I have been confined to the house and mostly bed with severe ME for 4 years. I cannot see how we can ever be together again, but the signs from God were very clear, it's hard to know what to believe.. Sometimes I fully believe these signs, but I wonder if I somehow interpreted them wrongly. Life is very difficult due to my illness. I would value prayers for my children, for healing and for my children's dad. I love the honesty of your post, thank you.

Hi Mirian! I am sorry for the late response. I sometimes don't always see comments right away and I have been taking a hiatus from my blog. However, I did pray for you (it may be after the fact), but I hope everything worked out for you with your condo. God bless!

Please pray that the difficulty that recently arose concerning a document in the registration of the deed of sale of my condo be solved. Our Lord is a way maker and a promise keeper and He had promised me that everything was going to be fine so I don't understand why I'm having this problem now but I trust God's plan and I am secure in Him. Appreciate your prayers.
